What is Flex & Free car finance?

Flex & Free is a flexible car finance agreement that works similarly to Contract Hire. You have the option to take out a new agreement from month six, and hand back your current vehicle hassle-free and without penalty (subject to condition and mileage).

When opting for a Flex & Free agreement, you choose a monthly payment and annual mileage limit that suit your circumstances.

How does Flex & Free work?

Our Flex & Free agreement is our most flexible car hire option. 

Finance application

First, we’ll carry out your credit and underwriting checks, and once approved, we can order your chosen vehicle.

Pay the advanced rental payment

Next, you’ll make an advanced payment to secure your car agreement. This initial amount is agreed when taking out your agreement and typically equals 3 months, so there won’t be any surprises. You can discuss the initial rental agreement directly with your Retailer.

Enjoy your vehicle for the duration of your contract

Once your vehicle arrives, you can drive away and enjoy your new car.

Decide what to do after six months

After six months of regular payments, you’ll have the option to end your current agreement. You’ll then have the option to take out a new finance agreement on another vehicle.

How long is the Flex & Free agreement?

Your Flex & Free agreement lasts for 48 months. However, you have the option to end your agreement from month six. This means Flex & Free offers you all the flexibility of a short-term agreement within the security of a long-term rental agreement. 

If you choose to end your agreement (at any point from six months in, until the end of your agreement), you have the option to take out a new agreement (subject to eligibility and credit checks) on a new vehicle. This new agreement doesn’t have to be Flex & Free again if you decide you want to choose another finance product. 

Can you finance electric cars on Flex & Free?

If you’re considering a hybrid or electric vehicle, flexible car finance with Flex & Free is a great place to start. You can hire a vehicle for six months or more, to find out whether an electric car suits your lifestyle needs.

Changing your vehicle on a flexible car finance agreement

How to change your car on Flex & Free

Ready to change cars? Simply let us know of your intention to end your agreement using your online account. From month five onwards, give us one month’s notice and then you can discuss a new car with a new finance agreement with your Retailer.

We’ll then book a convenient time to pick up your existing car.

Once you hand your car back, your existing agreement will end with nothing more to pay (any final payments are subject to damage or excess mileage charges, per your agreement). 

If you choose to take out a new agreement on a different vehicle, this will begin when you collect your vehicle. It’s worth noting your payments may increase if your new vehicle costs more than your previous one.

What if I don't want to change my car for another car?

If you decide not to end your agreement early during your initial 48-month  agreement, you can simply continue with your agreement as normal. Then, you’ll return your vehicle at the end of your 48-month contract as initially agreed.

Excess mileage charges may apply if you exceed the agreed annual mileage allowance. However, you can request a quote to change your mileage allowance in your online account  if needed. To avoid end of contract damage charges, all repairs should be made before you return your vehicle.
